Parenting in the Digital Age - with Tony Reinke
Today, Tony Reinke joins me to talk about parenting in the digital age. Tony is author of the books 12 Ways Your Phone is Changing You, and Competing Spectacles: Treasuring Christ in the Media Age. Our discussion covers questions like how is parenting in our digital age different from past generations, what kind of protective limits are wise, and how can we teach our children about the importance of connection and relationships, when we’re all being tempted to connect through a screen?
If this episode is a blessing to you, we'd be so thankful if you'd subscribe to the podcast and give us a rating and review. These help us to continue to reach more women with encouragement and gospel hope, and share biblical perspectives on the topics we cover.

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.” (Psalm 119:9 ESV)
“My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word!” (vs. 25)
“My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word! ” (vs. 28)
“I am severely afflicted; give me life, O Lord, according to your word!” (vs. 107)
“Let my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your word!” (vs. 169)
“Let my plea come before you; deliver me according to your word.” (vs. 170)
⠀⠀
Over and over in Psalm 119, the psalmist cries out to God to meet his need for life, strength, well-being, relief from affliction, deliverance and understanding. His cries to the Lord are ours, too, especially in an age when we face so much temptation to seek social media for understanding and so many opportunities for distraction from seeking the better portion…

‘As we seek you, Christ Jesus, and we invest ourselves in your word, Lord, make us women who long for you, for your truth, more and more. May we display your glory to our children, and share the gift of your word and your truth with them. Holy Spirit, we are entirely dependent on you and your work in our children’s lives.
Make us women who do not fear the culture around us, or the influence of technology. Give us your wisdom, and keep us faithful and watchful as we grow in you.’
