About our guest this week:
Caroline Saunders is the delightful heart you’ll find at writercaroline.com and @writercaroline on Instagram. She is married to Luke, a pastor, and they are the parents of two adorable children, and waiting to adopt their third child.
Caroline has several free Bible studies available at her website, but she’s also created study toolkits, and discipleship materials, which you can find in her website’s shop. She’s also a contributor to the book, Same Here, Sister Friend: Mostly True Tales of Misadventures in Motherhood.
Over at her website, Caroline also shares, “The gospel is my favorite story, and I am always trying to tell it well. I especially love doing this at Story & Soul Weekend, a women’s retreat I started with some of my best friends…”
Caroline talked in this episode about how thankful she is for Jen Wilkin’s book Women of the Word.
Quotes from this episode:
(Delight is also) “when we seek to have a growing understanding of what he’s like. That’s where Bible literacy comes into play. You have to read and engage the text yourself rather than pin pretty verses on Pinterest or take your pastor’s word for it. Because the more I sink my teeth into Scripture, the more I realize how much freedom I really do have in Christ. There are so many more opportunities for delight when I’m really, really reading it.”
“We can consider those hard things to be joy because they go to work in our hearts to make us steadfast and to bring us to maturity.”
